Mass Spectrometry in the Department of Chemistry

General Information

The Mass Spectrometry Core Facility maintains instruments on the 2nd and 5th floors of Havemeyer Hall.  See individual instrument descriptions for more information.

With the exception of the Waters QTOF, all instruments in the MS Core are walk-up instruments available 24/7 to trained users.  The Bruker MALDI-TOF/TOF and Advion CMS-L require online reservations before using the instruments.  No reservation is required for the Agilent GC-MS or Waters SFC-MS (low resolution).  The QTOF is available by sample submission only, and the sample submission form for accurate mass analysis (HRMS) can be found in the Documents page.  For quantitation or other collaborative experiments on the QTOF, email Fereshteh Zandkarimi to make an appointment.

For training on any of the walk-up instruments, please email Fereshteh Zandkarimi to set up an appointment.

All facility users are expected to maintain up-to-date safety certifications from Columbia University, and anyone using the instruments outside normal business hours (9 AM - 6 PM) must hold a C-14 card from FDNY.
